Microsoft Opens New Azure Region in Poland

Microsoft’s first Azure region in Central and Eastern Europe is now open in Poland. The new region, called Poland Central, is in the Warsaw area of Poland and includes three Availability Zones. The new Poland region is designed to address specific data residency needs while offering more localized cloud capabilities. Details on this new Azure region can be found here.

Why This Matters

· This new Poland Central Azure region will address multiple data residency requirements for Eastern Europe and will offer services closer to other Eastern European countries.

· The new region follows the current pattern of delivering three Availability Zones as part of the rollout. This provides advanced coverage for customers using the service.

· Microsoft continues to have almost more regions than AWS and Google combined which makes Azure more able to address specific geographic needs.
