Oracle Solutions on Azure Gain More Enterprise-Ready Capabilities

Oracle Solutions on Azure Gain More Enterprise-Ready Capabilities

The strategic partnership between Microsoft and Oracle continues to deepen, bringing even more Oracle database solutions to Azure. While Oracle has extended similar services to AWS and Google Cloud, Azure remains ahead of the curve—offering the broadest set of features, deepest integrations, and the most global reach.

What’s New

Oracle Database@Azure is expanding its capabilities to better support enterprise-grade Oracle workloads. Key updates include:

  • Oracle Base Database Service support now available on Azure

  • Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure is generally available

  • Support for Oracle Exadata X11M

  • Integration with more Azure-native services like Private Link, Global Peering, and Network Security Groups

  • Plans to expand Oracle Database@Azure into 32 Azure regions by the end of 2025, with both single-zone and multizone options

More information can be found in Microsoft’s official announcement.

Why This Matters

Enterprise customers running Oracle databases now have a more seamless path to Azure. Here’s why these updates are significant:

  • Simplified Architecture: Many businesses run complex Oracle workloads. With Oracle Database@Azure, organizations can now run these workloads natively in Azure without needing to integrate with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure separately.

  • Procurement Efficiency: These services are only available through Private Offers in the Azure Marketplace, managed via Oracle’s sales teams. Importantly, these Private Offers qualify toward a customer’s Microsoft Azure MACC (Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment)making it easier for organizations to meet their committed Azure spend while adopting Oracle technology.

As Oracle continues to invest in multi-cloud strategies, it’s clear that Azure is becoming a first-class destination for Oracle enterprise workloads—offering the performance, security, and regional availability modern businesses require.
